The Bonnier Gallery is pleased to present Paperwork, an exhibition of works on paper by Jim Dine, Christian Marclay, Claes Oldenburg, James Rosenquist, Cy Twombly, and Andy Warhol, on view August 1st through September 14, 2019. Paperwork brings together a group of works on paper that highlight the medium as a vital site of experimentation within postwar and contemporary art.

 

Spanning drawing, printmaking, and monoprint, the exhibition explores the immediacy and intimacy that paper affords artists, revealing processes of mark-making, gesture, and visual thought often distinct from work realized in other media. From the lyrical, calligraphic sensibilities associated with Cy Twombly to the bold graphic language of Pop artists such as Andy Warhol and James Rosenquist, the exhibition traced a range of approaches that underscore the expressive breadth of the medium.
