Exploring the interconnections between language, technology, politics, and history, by means of computer-generated experiences, has been a fundamental aspect of Yucef Merhi's practice. The comprehension of these relationships led him to develop systems that intermix multiple fields of knowledge, bringing out awareness.

 

Merhi is an artist, coder, and academic researcher. He is a pioneer of Digital Art and is known for exhibiting the first work of art that included a video game console. Merhi has exhibited at The New Museum (NY), LACMA (LA), De Appel (Amsterdam) and Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), among others. He holds a Master's from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP).
