Buenos Aires-born, Miami-based Diego Waisman is a photo-based artist who explores themes of social and economic displacement, exile, family, identity, and origins. Much of his work revolves around the post-memories of his family diaspora and his journey as an immigrant to the United States.
His latest project, For I Shall Already Have Forgotten You, is a 90-page photobook that explores the disappearance and gentrification of South Florida’s Mobile Home Communities.
Waisman holds a degree in Computer Animation and Multimedia from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and a degree in Studio Art and Communication from the University of Miami. He is currently completing an MFA at Florida International University.
