Interior Security is a data-based installation comprised by the incoming and outgoing emails of the former Minister of the Interior of Peru, Daniel Ezequiel Lozada Casapia. Between 2011 and 2012 hundreds of emails were sent and received by Mr. Lozada. Some of these emails include messages by the President of Peru, several ministers and political figures, army officials, businessmen, family members, and so on.

The information employed in this work was arranged using a spatial array system known as datagram, devised by Merhi in 1998. The artist printed and scattered the data by applying a geometric pattern subject to the content relevance, becoming an intermediary between the people who wrote the messages and the viewers. The result is an immersive and monumental wallpaper installation that can be explored in many different ways.

Interior Security displays the vulnerability of Latin American governments regarding network security systems. It also highlights the act of hacking as an instrument for art production, endorsing email as an open and uncensored source of contemporary knowledge.
